Day 15

ABANDONED DEVOTION:

Creative Praise:

In response to the following Scripture, sing a song of praise to Jesus, draw Him a picture, or write Him a poem.

Praise the God of heaven as Daniel did for, “He changes times and seasons; He sets up kings and deposes them… He reveals deep things; He knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells in Him.” (Daniel 2:21-22)

3-Stage Bible Study:  Read the Q—Analyze the Verse—Write Your Response

Salvation is depicted as eating.  How do you fulfill this picture in your life?[i]

“And Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life.  He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.’” (John 6:35)

Prayer Journal Questions: Listen to the Lord as you meditate on the following verses.

What are sins that God is showing you that need to be confessed in your life and in your generation?

“If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear.” (Psalm 66:18)

What are ways you can pray for and pursue revival on your campus?

“For thus says the High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: ‘I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.’” (Isaiah 57:15)

GLOBAL PROCLAMATION:

Forgotten People Group: The Muong of Vietnam

The Muong are one of the largest ethnic minorities in the Indochina region, as well as the second largest ethnic group in Vietnam. They inhabit the mountainous slopes of north central Vietnam, from the lower reaches of the Da River to the upper reaches of the Ma River. The Muong speak a Mon-Khmer language that is closely related to Vietnamese.

What are their needs?
More men than women were killed in the Vietnamese War, creating a skewed sex ratio among the Muong. Today, mostly widows and orphans remain. The women are now required to perform duties that once belonged to the men.

The Muong need emotional healing from horrors of war. This will only come when they meet Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Christian laborers, additional evangelistic tools, and intercession for the Muong are all desperately needed.

Prayer Points

  • Pray that God will grant favor to the missions agency that is currently targeting the Muong.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to anoint the Gospel message as it goes forth via radio among the Muong.
  • Ask the Lord to begin revealing Himself to these precious people through dreams and visions.
  • Pray that God will give the Muong believers opportunities to share the Gospel with their own people.
  • Ask God to send Christian humanitarian aid workers to Vietnam to minister to the physical needs of these war-torn people.
  • Take authority over the spiritual principalities and powers that are keeping the Muong bound.
  • Ask God to call forth prayer teams who will begin breaking up the soil through intercession.
  • Pray that strong local churches will be planted among the Muong by the year 2010.

Promise from Scripture:

“And they sang a new song, saying: ‘You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood, out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth.’” Revelation 5:9-10

Generational Barrier:

Sense of Inadequacy – There is a confidence that the emerging generation of believers seem to possess today. Yet, there is simultaneously a debilitating sense of inadequacy that holds many back from entering into the purposes of God for their lives. Pray for an all-consuming freedom from such inadequacy and a thorough realization of Christ’s righteousness taking the place of my own. (Romans 5:8; Psalms 103:12; Romans 8:1)

Prayer Journaling Response:

Take a few moments to record thoughts, prayers, and any insight. Also, it is often helpful to record how the Lord led in prayer – Scriptures, mental pictures, or a word or thought. Practice not only praying but also listening to the Lord. As we understand how the Lord is leading us, we can more quickly tune into the Lord’s voice when we have major decisions facing us or in times when the Lord feels far from us.
