Day 1

 ABANDONED DEVOTION:

Creative Praise: In response to the following Scripture, sing a song of praise to Jesus, draw Him a picture, or write Him a poem.

“Praise the Son of Man because “in the future we will see Him sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.” He is high and exalted – and He is coming again!” (Matthew 26:64)

3-Stage Bible Study:  Read the Q—Analyze the Verse—Write Your Response

How did David respond to the invitation by God to seek God’s face?  Write some ways you will seek God.[i]

“When You said, ‘Seek My face,’ my heart said to You, ‘Your face, Lord, I will seek.’  Do not hide Your face from me; do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation’” (Ps 27:8-9)

Prayer Journal Questions:  Listen to the Lord as you meditate on the following verses.

What are sins that God is showing you that need to be confessed in your life and in your generation?

He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”  Philippians 2:8

What are ways you can pray for and pursue revival on your campus?

“Then he said to Him, ‘If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.’”  Exodus 33:15

GLOBAL PROCLAMATION:

Forgotten People Group: Children in Sex Trade

10 million children involved in the sex industry worldwide

1 million new children enter the sex trade every year

*Poverty is a major cause of children entering the sex trade. Some parents allow, urge or force their children into sex trade because of they want a better standard of living not necessarily because they are poor.

*Beyond the psychological, emotional and physical damage, there is also the risk of HIV.

*Unfortunately, child pornography is a lucrative business which makes countries less likely to shut it down because it attracts tourism.

Prayer Points:

  1. Ask the Lord of the Harvest to raise up workers who would go and shower these children with love and show them that they are “fearfully and wonderfully made” as God’s creation.
  2. Pray for parents to not be beguiled into thinking that a better standard of living is worth the destruction of their child’s health in every way. Ask for truth to reign in their hearts and lives.
  3. Ask the Lord to break down strong holds that keep child pornography businesses in existence. Pray for justice to rain down from governments into the fabric of society that these evil businesses might be closed forever.
  4. Pray for the children themselves to hunger and thirst for righteousness in the midst of utter depravity. Ask for God to cover them with His banner of love that they would know the love of One who will not abuse them but seeks only to bless them.

Promise from Scripture:

Psalm 72:12-14 – “For He will deliver the needy when he cries, the poor also, and him who has no helper. He will spare the poor and needy, and will save the souls of the needy. He will redeem their life from oppression and violence; and precious shall be their blood in His sight.”

Generational Barrier:

Only Believe! (Mark 5:36) – In this generation where skepticism abounds, the sense of pursuing God and partnering Him towards the impossible has dwindled. Let us ask God to set today’s emerging generation ablaze to believe Him for the impossible in our personal lives, families, on our campuses, in our nation and finally among those globally who are today standing in complete opposition and hatred toward God and His people. May we stand upon His promises as the only basis for seeing the seemingly impossible accomplished in our lifetime.

Prayer Journaling Response:

Take a few moments to record thoughts, prayers, and any insight. Also, it is often helpful to record how the Lord led in prayer – Scriptures, mental pictures, or a word or thought. Practice not only praying but also listening to the Lord. As we understand how the Lord is leading us, we can more quickly tune into the Lord’s voice when we have major decisions facing us or in times when the Lord feels far from us.
